This page explains how diner reviews are handled on Eatouts, what we expect from reviewers, and how venues can respond.
Public diner reviews are being progressively rolled out. While general star ratings or community signals may appear on some listings, Eatouts does not yet operate a full open-review system. This policy describes how reviews will be handled as that feature rolls out.
Reviews on Eatouts must reflect a real dining experience by the person posting them. Reviewers should describe what they actually ordered, when they visited and what stood out.
Reviewers must not be paid, gifted or otherwise rewarded by a venue in exchange for posting a positive review. Venues must not solicit reviews in ways that breach Australian consumer law guidance on testimonials.
Eatouts reserves the right to remove, edit or decline to publish any review at our discretion, with priority on protecting users and venues from harm.
Verified venue owners will be able to respond publicly to reviews of their venue once that feature is live. Responses must be professional and must not disclose private information about the reviewer.
If you believe a review breaches this policy, contact us via /contact with the venue, the review and a brief explanation. We aim to review reports within a few business days.
For questions about this policy, contact the Eatouts team via /contact. We aim to respond within two business days.
